Karrion Kross Remembers His Main Roster Debut And Defeat Against Jeff Hardy
Kross made his main roster debut on Monday night RAW against the former three times WWE World Championship Jeff Hardy. His valet Scarlet was left behind after his main roster debut. During that time, Jeff was mostly working as a jobber and he was lifting younger stars. But surprisingly, Jeff defeated Kross in Kross’ debut match. It made things pretty clear. Vince McMahon had no big plans for Kross on the main roster.
After a number of weeks, Kross became a victim of the releasing spree of WWE as the promotion released a lot of talents to adjust their budget during the covid 19 pandemic. He is currently working on Friday Night Smackdown and he is doing pretty good.
Karrion Kross who is a former two times WWE NXT champion recently spoke to Peter Rosenburg on the “Cheap Heat” podcast where he looked back at his main roster debut that took place last year in 2001. He talked about his first match on the main roster against Jeff Hardy and losing to the Enigmatic Soul. He said;
“I got a lot of people coming up to me and shaking hands for doing that, actually. I won’t drop names, but people that are many, many years in were saying like, ‘This guy gets it.’ It’s not a one-man show. It’s not about coming up here and making crazy demands. I got a lot of respect actually from my peers over doing that.”
“They put me on course to be a star,” The former two times WWE NXT Champion Karrion Kross continued, “This one thing that they were asking me to do, [I was like] it’s nothing. It’s no problem.”
“There’s a black hat and a white hat,” Kross said. “So, with the Jeff thing, I heard them react and I was like, ‘Hey, I did my job.’ And it was arguably disadvantageous to me, like, it wasn’t good for me, is what I’m trying to say, but that’s how I approached it. I looked at this as work that night.”
