Herschelle Gibbs former South African batsman was arrested by the Western Cape police on Sunday on a charge of reckless driving. Gibbs has represented the Proteas in 90 Tests and was also a part of the team in 248 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 23 T20 Internationals. It has been reported that Gibbs was driving very fast, and at that moment his car had collided with a Toyota. Sports24 had reported that although no injuries have been so far reported, but police had to take action against Gibbs.
“A case of drink and drive is under investigation. The 40-year-old South African, suspect was arrested at 23:30 pm on Sunday and will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on November 25, 2015,” FC Van Wyk, the spokesperson of the Western Cape police had confirmed this news to the media. Police opened a case docket and the circumstances around the incident are still under investigation.
