Not long after a test playing nation is getting ready to tour Pakistan for the first time in 5 years and Javed Miandad, an ex-Pakistan player felt that the ICC should take personal responsibility in increasing the number of tours that Pakistan will host.
Miandad said that he felt that the ICC should encourage teams to tour Pakistan and to guarantee their safety during the tour rather than just allow teams to skip touring Pakistan for security reasons. Miandad wanted the ICC to revive International cricket at home for the country.
Miandad who also criticized the way the cricket board of Pakistan has been functioning said that the Pakistan Cricket Board must be run ex players and sports professionals who have experience regarding the sport and not journalists and diplomats. Miandad also pointed out the whole fight for democracy that the International Cricket Council is striving for has done no good to cricket and that they must be more involved in the problems faced by board like the PCB and be able to raise voice against them.
Zimbabwe who is scheduled to play 3 ODIs and two T20s will be the first test nation to tour Pakistan after the attacks on Sri Lankan players in March 2009.
