Sachin Tendulkar,Brian Lara and Don Bradman are legends of cricketing world and has glorious past so any memorabilia of them would be pretty much costly.Some intense bidding went on for a wide range of cricket memorabilia at Osian’s Icons. In this auction  the main focus  was on the icons such as Don Bradman, Brian Lara, Garry Sobers, Richard Hadlee, Dennis Lilee and Sachin Tendulkar. Among all this players Brian Lara’s signed jersey went for Rs 40,000 after an intense round bidding.

 

Bradman’s signed memorabilia was one of the biggest highlights of the day, as there were many items attracting bids from his lot. His display mainly comprised of Ashes cover and three photos went for a ransom amount of Rs 33,000. Memorabilia related to Lara’s milestones also went for a great price. A newspaper report and a signed photograph of his 375 and a newspaper poster of his 400 went for a whooping 30,000 each. Some of Tendulkar’s signed photographs and caricatures were also taken for good bids.

 

However, the highest bid of the day was for Abbas Ali Baig’s blazer of the 1959 tour of England and it just did, steal the show. It was snapped a amount as high as Rs 2,50,000 beating all other bids. A good amount of Rs60,000 finally went for the photocopy of the scorecard of Anil Kumble‘s 10.

 

One of the other interesting items was Hansie Cronje‘s signed jersey of South Africa’s first tour to India in 1991, which attracted the bidders. However, the signed sketch and an ‘I forgive Hansie’ badge was picked in the auction. Even a signed bat of the South African team of that 1991 tour was taken for a price of Rs 50,000.

 

India‘s training jersey of the ICC World Cup 1999 was also taken for Rs 30,000. Even a VVS Laxman and Harbhajan Singh signed ticket of the Eden Gardens Test of 2001, went for Rs 44,000.
