Steven Gerrard is in the house, scouse lads. Steven Gerrard has returned to Liverpool and he will attend today’s Liverpool vs Crystal palace.
Gerrard returning to Anfield will give huge psychological boost to the players. Prior to the Crystal Palace game, Liverpool’s german midfielder Emre Can, who was touted to be ‘next Steven Gerrard’ has paid tribute to Steven Gerrard.
The german ’emre tank’ says nobody can replace Stevie G, not even Lionel Messi. Emre has said : ”I don’t think anyone can replace Steven Gerrard. Be it Messi,or whoever. But of course I would like to follow in his path.”
Earlier, Can said,”I want to be the new Steven Gerrard”.
The german midfielder is clearly inspired from Steven Gerrard’s work ethic and discipline. He says , ”I haven’t been to a bar or a club this season”.
Before Can, James Milner also said that ”Even Lionel Messi couldn’t replace Steven Gerrard in Liverpool”.
Milner said, “Even Messi would struggle to replace Stevie for what he’s done to Liverpool over the years”
”I don’t think there is somebody on this planet who could replace Gerrard for what he’s done to Liverpool over the years.”
Emre Can also heaped praise on his new manager Jurgen Klopp, he said , ”I am really pleased to have such a brilliant coach. As you can see,Klopp is very emotional on the sidelines, thats why he is so successful.”
As Gerrard and Messi’s name has got into the frame once again, it is worth noting that it was rumoured back in 2010 that Gerrard said his Liverpool teammate Joe Cole was better than Leo Messi.
