Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have found some much needed form since the turn of the year, as they have managed to progress well in all the competitions.

The manager will be happy with the progress of his side in the last couple of months but he will know that he will have to work on the squad if he is to get them to compete with the best in the business.

The Red Devils have both their doors to the Champions League open as they are currently just a couple of points off a place in the top-4, and are also into the Round of 16 of the Europa League, where they were drawn with FC Rostov an Russian outfit.

Mourinho has been evidently unhappy with the options at his disposal and is sure to spend big in the summer transfer window to add some quality players to the squad. This might also see him sell a couple of stars from the current squad.

Speaking to the media recently, Mourinho admitted as much and revealed that the fans of the club should brace themselves for some mega signings at the end o the season.

The Portuguese manager spent close to £150m, including a record £89, on one Paul Pogba, and he has recently revealed that he could yet be breaking the record yet again at the end of the season.

And today, he revealed that he will surely make a few signings to improve the squad at the club.

Speaking to Sky, Mourinho said, ‘The next push is the next transfer window. We didn’t use it in the winter and we are obviously going to use it in the summer and trust the players we have,’

‘We will keep a huge percentage of the players we have at this moment in the squad. We need the next push.

Manchester United missed out on a couple of top transfer targets in the summer and also in January and Mourinho was adamant that he will try to get his business done quickly in the transfer window.

‘If possible [to complete signings quickly in the summer], it is better. If you can start the pre-season with your squad it is obviously better

‘I think we will be ready in July to open the door for two or three good players to help us to improve our level

He went on to explain that it was important for his squad to settle in before the start of the season and that he will not wait till the deadline day to get his favorite players to the club.

‘I always say that the market closes on August 31 when you are already playing matches, so it is not the best moment to do it. But sometimes deals are so difficult to do that sometimes the people responsible need one more day, one more week and it goes until the end.’
