Swimmer Chupkov Breaks Own World Championships Record

Russian Anton Chupkov broke his own FINA World Championships record in the men’s 200 metres breaststroke on his way to winning the title here.

Chupkov, won came in third at the Rio 2016 Olympics, broke the record he set in the semi-finals, when he registered 2:07.14.

Japanese Yasuhiro Koseki and Ippei Watanabe, who did not make the most of their strong start, had to settle with second and third places respectively.
