Former WWE star who is the winner of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in 2017 recently recalled of the incident of WWE using promo format with a different talent. However, he did not name the talent.
Mojo Rawley started his professional wrestling career back in 2012. He started his WWE career through the NXT. He did not win anything in the NXT but he became quite famous among the fans during this time period.
Mojo Rawley On His Promo Format
In 2015, he was promoted to the main roster and he teamed up with Zack Ryder and together they were known as The Hype Bros. They could never win the tag team championship together but they were loved by the fans. The Hype Bros was a very famous team back in the time.
He was mostly treated as a jobber throughout his career. But he got his first big career highlight in 2017. At WrestleMania 33, he won the Andre The Giant Memorial battle royal by last eliminating Jinder Mahal.
But the win could not elevate him to anything special. This is one of the biggest reasons why Andre The Giant Memorial was vastly criticized, it had no purpose whatsoever. Recently he was released from WWE.
Mojo Rawley who is a former WWE star and the 2017 Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal Winner recently spoke to Fightful where he recalled of the incident of WWE using promo format with a different talent. He said;
“You know, there’s a lot of things you do that when you put out, or maybe you’ve pitched it, it resurfaces on TV with somebody else trying to do what you’re good at. I’ve always had a couple of different thought processes about it. Because, one, there is part of me that understands it and I get it.
“You’re getting paid a salary to do a job and especially if you’re a guy that’s not on TV every week, maybe your contribution is from a backdoor creative standpoint where it’s like, ‘Alright. Well, this guy’s got great ideas. We’ll keep them around and continue to pay him so we can steal his stuff.’ To a point, I get it. Whatever. That’s gonna happen.”
