WWE News: Plans around John Cena and Brock Lesnar after the brand split
With everyone eagerly waiting to know when the much anticipated WWE Draft will take place, WWE has finally decided to let us know the big day. The split of the roster will be conducted via the exciting WWE Draft on July 19th on WWE Smackdown, the day it is starting airing live on the USA Network on every Tuesday. The countdown begins as the WWE Draft will determine which superstar and championship are going to stay on which brand as we look to unfold more in the upcoming weeks.
With that being said the pro-wrestling fraternity is buzzing with which superstar will end up on which brand. One such report from wrestlingINC.com confirms that all the advertisements for the Smackdown live events post brand split season has been given without John Cena whereas Raw has his name consistently on every advertisement. So, it can be expected that Cena will stick to the flagship program on every Monday Nights.
On the other hand, since July 19th is going to be the night which will decide WWE’s future, many speculated if Brock Lesnar will be a part of the WWE Draft or not. But, the rumor mill suggests that Lesnar will not be seen in the WWE before or after July 9th, the big day when he will face Mark Hunt in the UFC 200 pay-per-view event. Subsequently, the beast has not been advertised for any such events, thereafter since his well-being is in jeopardy once that hellacious match takes place inside the octagon.
Previously it was reported that August 9th’s WWE SmackDown will take place live from Rabobank Arena, Bakersfield. The show’s main event has already been advertised as a six-man tag team match. The tag team match will be featuring the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose teaming up with Big Show and Kane to take on the team of Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, and Eric Rowan. So, it can be expected that both Ambrose and Wyatt will be a part of the Smackdown roster. Though, nothing is concrete yet considering how volatile WWE’s planning are.
