England Veteran Fast Bowling duo Stuart Broad and James Anderson became the second bowling pair to take 1000 wickets together in Test cricket. The England duo reached the milestone on Day 2 of the ongoing 1st Test against New Zealand at the Bay Oval on February 17. The Historic feat was achieved when Broad dismissed Neil Wagner in the first session.

Aussie legends Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne were the first bowling pair to achieve the feat. They played 104 Test matches together and picked up 1001 wickets combined. Broad and Anderson become the second pair to achieve this unique record. They are also the highest wicket-taking pacers in the longest format of the game. With Anderson and Broad still fit to play they will important players for England in the important Ashes in June 2023.

New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first on Day 1 of the series opener. England posted 325 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in just 58.2 overs. Ben Duckett (84) and Harry Brook (89) were the highest scorers for England. On Day 2, at the time of writing, New Zealand had lost 9 wickets for 296 runs in 79.5 overs. The game is still very well in balance and exciting day 3 awaits.
