Professional wrestling Legend John Cena who is also a former sixteen times WWE World champion recently talked about the possibility of the MMA Legend Conor McGregor joining WWE. He said the 33 year old UFC star would be a great fit for WWE.

There has been rumours of Conor McGregor joining WWE for months. Previously wrestlers like the current WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle talked about the possibility of him joining WWE. Also the former 4 times WWE world champion Sheamus talked about it as well. But there is no concrete news yet.

John Cena Thinks Conor McGregor Will Be A Good Fit For WWE

WWE’s obsession with MMA stars is nothing new. They mostly promote MMA stars as top guys. One of the biggest name right now is Brock Lesnar. Even though he started his career as a professional wrestler, but he also gained fame MMA as well. There are other examples of WWE trying to promote MMA wrestlers as well.

One of the most recent example being Cain Velasquez challenging Brock Lesnar at the Crown Jewel pay per view event of 2019. They tried to push him as as big name but it did not work. But the obsession of WWE never ended. McGregor has an amazing record in the MMA. He can be an excellent fit in WWE.

John Cena who is also a former sixteen times WWE World champion recently spoke on That Scene with Dan Patrick where he talked about the possibility of the MMA Legend Conor McGregor would be a great fit for WWE, He said;

“He’d be fantastic,” Cena said. “He is what we do. What he does is a little less predictable. Our surprises are getting people to show up at random, and trying to weave the choose-your-own-adventure to a different alley.

“His surprises are getting a few teeth knocked out or getting an operation. Not to say that doesn’t happen with us, mistakes happen with us. But in his profession, its not a mistake. It’s a certainty.”

“I hope, because I want to see it,” Cena said. “At my core, I’m a fan and he’s interesting. He has a gravity about him. I want to see him perform.”
